Stockholm, Dec. 8(CED)– Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger will receive their Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 from the hands of his excellency Swedish King Karl Gustaf XVI on Saturday at the Stockholm Concert Hall.
This will be the first time such a grand ceremony to be held since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020。 Due to Covid-19, 2020, 2021 there was no awarding ceremony nor nobel bankquet. But this year it is said that all the laureates from the other two years are also invited to attend the banquet as a compensation.
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser and Anton Zeilinger for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science.
Entangled states- from theory to technology
Alain Aspect, John Clauser and Anton Zeilinger have each conducted groundbreaking experiments using entangled quantum states, where two particles behave like a single unit even when they are separated. Their results have cleared the way for new technology based upon quantum information.
